SINGLE StEP Diol Flash Column
SINGLE StEP Columns (patented) represent an innovative step forward in chromatography. SINGLE StEP Columns (patented) allow for a simple screw top column that can be used for liquid or dry loading by opening the cap and pouring in liquid or dropping in dry material. The columns are a universal fit for all different flash instruments. Diol columns can be used for polarity change separations. Diol columns work well with polar compounds. Diol columns are reusable up to 20 times.
Diol Flash Columns operate under normal phase conditions. i.e., 100% Hexane → 100% Ethyl Acetate (normal phase going from non-polar to increasing polarity). As a general rule-of-thumb, compounds will elute faster on these columns as compared to standard silica columns. Mechanism of action: weak base/acid interactions. The diol group will retain the following compounds stronger: amines, borons and phosphorus reagents. Alcohols will be show less retention. Solvent systems are the same as for Standard Silica columns.

to screen for profile matching. Our Diol columns can be re-used up to 20 times! General guideline for compound loading is 10% of material weight. Diol columns are also available in a variety of sizes, ranging from 4.7gram to 353gram.
