Product Manager

General Summary:

Are you an experienced Product Manager who would like to join an emerging leader with proven technologies in bioprocessing and analytical chemistry?

We are seeking an experienced (2+ years) Product Manager who will provide tactical and strategic management of Thomson product lines consisting of single-use disposable as well as reusable shaker flask consumables, R&D and GMP bioprocessing accessories and sample prep tools for analytical chemistry.

Position Description:

The Product Manager is responsible for providing tactical and strategic management of all new and existing Thomson products including Filter Vials, Optimum Growth and Ultra Yield flasks and accessories, Well Plates, Filter Plates and all other products within the Thomson product portfolio. The PM role has ultimate responsibility for product performance including technical support, technical training of sales staff and the transitioning of new products from the post-design phase through alpha and beta site testing to new product launch. This includes working with sales and marketing to update, maintain and generate new and/or existing marketing collateral including brochures, flyers and white papers to support new and existing Thomson products. The PM role works closely with Sales and Quality team members to ensure that proper customer-facing documentation, such as Certificates of Authenticity, Sterility and Leachables, are available and up-to-date for each of the relevant product numbers. This position reports directly to the National Sales Manager.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with sales, marketing and engineering, create, document and follow through to final approval, manufacturing and sale all new product development concepts within existing and new Thomson product lines
  • Design and document product management processes for new and existing products including product launch, product updates and obsolescence
  • Provide technical product guidance to customers and field sales via email, phone and in-person meetings
  • Provide technical product training to new field sales representatives in each of the Thomson product lines
  • Coordinate with sales management and graphic design to create and edit all new and existing product marketing collateral including brochures, flyers and white papers
  • Coordinate with sales management and graphic design to create e-marketing communications to our customer base announcing new products and providing updates to existing products
  • Create a centralized database that can be accessed by Sales, Marketing, Quality and Engineering which contains relevant customer-facing documentation, such as Certificates of Authenticity, Sterility and Leachables
  • Provide updates to field sales during Annual and Semi-Annual Sales Meetings

Are you an experienced sales rep who would like to join an emerging leader with proven technologies in bioprocessing and analytical chemistry?

We are seeking an experienced Sales Professional to sell single-use disposable as well as reusable shaker flask consumables, R&D and GMP bioprocessing accessories and sample prep tools for analytical chemistry.

Uncapped commission structure!

Maintain and manage specific outside territory by meeting and exceeding sales goals. Manage customer accounts to ensure “premiere” service and technical support to customers with on-site consultative visits on a regular and ongoing basis. Qualified candidates will cover greater Boston area and NorthEast region, must currently reside in the territory and have familiarity with local NorthEast pharma and biotech accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that assigned territory meets sales goals
  • Conduct on-site customer visits to provide company product information and drive business
  • Sell products in various market segments via direct and channel sales
  • Attend local vendor shows and company sponsored tradeshows
  • Identify new opportunities through cold calling and penetrating new accounts
  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers
  • Develop sales strategies for assigned territory. which includes business plans, and market analysis
  • Have a positive attitude, be a team player, and strive to learn and contribute to company culture
  • Manage and maintain information in customer database system
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by customers and/or management
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the account base in the geography preferred
  • Laboratory hands-on experience preferred
  • Basic Knowledge of Cell Culture and Analytical methods
  • Experience in Microsoft office and a CRM program
  • Negotiation skills
  • Self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are critical
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Life Sciences or Chemistry required
